“Chef” Maria & Daughter

Hi Ladies and Happy Sunday!

These are very challenging times we are all going through right now and although we are staying socially distanced, International Women’s of Portugal (IWP) are finding new ways in which we can stay more connected. Starting with the kitchen! Food is a universal subject that connects all of us, so we are starting a new series on our website in which a video of a new recipe will be shared so everyone can try something new together and hopefully we will be able to share them all in person soon!

For the first part of this series, IWP president, Maria and her daughter Sarah are making a chocolate salami. Chocolate salami is a traditional Portuguese dessert sold in bakeries, supermarkets and even the local market. Chocolate salami is actually an incredibly easy recipe to make at home with only 5 ingredients!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 180g of unsalted butter
  • 200g of granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 150g of cocoa powder
  • 200g of ‘bolacha Maria’ (cookies)

For Instructions, watch the video below with included tips and tricks to perfect this recipe every time!

Let us know if you like this series and want to see any more recipes!
